Meet the Therapist:
Kristy Palacios, LPC
I have lived in Colorado for over 20 years. I am originally from the Midwest where I grew up in a farm community and to this day enjoy spending time working outside and around animals. I have a wonderful husband and three grown children. I spend time with my husband hiking, camping, and hanging out with friends. As much as possible I spend time with my grown children, usually making them dinners, as I love to cook big meals. In my spare time, I love to volunteer taking care of horses and donkeys. I have spent much of my adult life as a "Jane of all trades", spending 10 plus years working in the area of law as a paralegal and manager. I have known for most of my life that I wanted to work in mental health to provide love, support, encouragement, and laughter to the hurt, the lost, and the broken and I have spent many years bringing this dream to pass. Below are my professional credentials for your reading enjoyment and I look forward to meeting you soon.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a Masters of Arts in counseling from Colorado Christian University, Lakewood, CO. I have extensive instruction and experience with anxiety, depression, crisis intervention, victim services, life transitions, and brain behavior therapies. I have been practicing mental health counseling for over five years.
Certifications & Licensure
I hold certifications in Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Thearpy (CBT), Prepare/Enrich Marriage Counseling Assessment and extensive training in QEEG guided neurotherapy and biofeedback. Currently, I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with the State of Colorado (License # 0014014).
I continue my education with various therapeutic trainings and the resources provided through my memberships in professional organizations such as the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and the Colorado Counseling Association (CCA).
