Happy New Year to you! I hope you had a very merry and joyous Christmas! We have been longing for snow and moisture to not only give appearance of the winter season but to encourage the comfort that so many of us feel in the nostalgia of waking to a blanket of sparkling snow on a weekend morning. Hopefully we get snow soon. If you know of anyone seeking assistants due to the fires, please reach out and I will do what I can to help out in any way. Our hearts go out to all that are hurting and seeking comfort. Information was sent out about the No Surprise Act that is to go into effect on January 1, 2022. If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them the best I can. Finally with the mask mandate being extended by tri-county health, please review the Informed Consent Addendum located in your file in the client portal and please let me know if you have any questions.

May God bless you in the upcoming new year and you find comfort and joy despite circumstances.

With much care and kindness,
Kristy Palacios, LPC, BCPCC

Is it me or has the summer and this year so far just flown by!? Many have been enjoying the new garden office space and I am happy to announce that we now have the office inside back up and running to see clients in as well. This is the week that the new intern will be starting. Please join me in welcoming Kimberly Logan. She is a student in the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MACMHC) Program at Colorado Christian University (CCU). As an up and budding new counselor showing exemplary skills, Kim is caring, kind, competent, and capable and dons the helping, compassionate, and empathetic characteristics so necessary to counseling.  She will be under supervision while counseling and completing her program her at Allied. Again, if you know of anyone seeking counseling send them our way. If there are any changes in the status of county instructions  or restrictions for in-person sessions, I will be sure to follow up frequently and keep you posted of any changes. Hoping all is well with you.

Prayers and blessings

I hope you had a wonderful Independence Day! It's been quite a few months since I have written an update. The moisture has been a wonderful gift over the spring and summer and I love to see how the blooming flowers flourish from it. Here at Allied the new office is open for business beginning July 12th. It's only taken a year, but it is finally here. Virtual sessions will continue to be available. We are following county instruction for in-person sessions and currently restrictions have been lifted.  I will be sure to stay on top of instructions if they are to change and update accordingly. Let me know if you would like to schedule an in-office visit or if you have any questions. On a near future note, an intern will be starting here at Allied near the end of August. If you know of anyone seeking counseling that is willing to work with an intern at a reduced rate, have them reach out after August 25th and we'll set them up for a consult in the beginning of September.

I am blessed and grateful to be a part of your life.  Don't hesitate to reach out.

With much kindness and care,
Kristy Palacios, LPC, BCPCC

Merry Christmas to you! Due to the cold weather, mobile sessions have been limited to days in temperatures closer to the upper 30's and above. Therefore, you may notice that online sessions are more prevalent for now. Although, my family and I have been working to create office space at my home to accommodate requested in-person sessions, unfortunately, the office has not been completed to date. Due to the state restrictions in place that have been mirrored or expounded upon by the board that regulates my license, augmenting in-office sessions has become a bit more stringent and therefore more difficult to implement. Again, I appreciate your patience and understanding with so many changes. This year has been challenging for many; please know that I am praying for you and your family and I'm here for you.

Don't hesitate to reach out.

With much kindness and care,

It has been quite a year for sure! Since no longer having an in-person office space, I am happy to report that although the term "mobile" seems to throw many off, mobile sessions where I have been meeting clients at locations located out doors for their appointments, has been going quite well. Mainly video sessions are taking place at this time. However, as the seasons change and the cooler weather comes in, mobile sessions may be a bit limited. Therefore, my family and I have been working to create office space at my home to accommodate any requested in-person sessions. I am hoping to have the office completed by November 1st, or the first long cold snap, whichever comes first. I appreciate everyone being so patient and understanding with so many changes. I believe this year has been difficult for many. My husband and I have been taking some trips to see family and go camping, to create some normalcy. I would love to hear about things that you have been up to to create solace in your worlds.

Don't hesitate to reach out and know that I am here for you.

With much kindness and care,
Kristy Palacios, LPC, BCPCC

Consideration have been made to return to the office. While the idea of having sessions while wearing masks seems a bit off, it has been brought to my attention that there is quite a bit more involved for me to return to the office. For instance, the requirement to document temperature and assessing and documenting the need for in-office session opposed to a video or phone session for each client prior to meeting. Not to mention thoroughly cleaning between each session and having clients wait in their car waiting to be texted when to enter. As if that’s not enough, the need to coordinate with my office mates to be sure that their clients and mine are social distancing and following required hygiene protocols would be necessary. I realize that this may end up being the new norm at some point. However, due to such in-depth requirements, I am seeking other ways.

Recently, the decision was made, upon Colorado Sate and CDC guidelines and insurance encouraging, to continue primarily with virtual appointments that include video and telephone sessions. Upon further thought, in conjunction with social distancing guidelines, with a high probability to also implement and offer mobile services to meet with established clients in an outside environment for in-person sessions.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the office by phone or email.

My prayers are with each of you and I look forward to our communications.

With much care and kindness,
Kristy Palacios, LPC, BCPCC
